Reinventing the Pumpkin Pie!

A couple of weeks ago, I wanted to make a pumpkin pie, but only had a remnant of a pie crust left.

So Ladies and Gentlemen I give you….

The Pumpkin Pie Trifle

  1. Make a pumpkin pie in the pie plate without the crust. (For the large trifle, I used 1 large can of pumpkin puree. This allowed for 3 pies.)

2. After the pies have cooled, place one in the bottom of the trifle.

3. Add a layer of Cool Whip.

4. Repeat 2 more times.

5. Top with cinnamon sugar.

Now for the fun part!

6. Add (about) 2 Tbsp brown sugar and a heavy sprinkling of cinnamon to a pie crust. Combine well.

( I use homemade pie crust, but you can do this to store bought as well. )

7. Roll into tiny balls. Bake at 400′ for 10 – 12 minutes on an ungreased cookie sheet or baking dish until golden brown.



Top with Pie crust balls before serving.

It is delicious!!
