Childlike faith.
Simple.
True.
Beautiful.
Blessed.
Confident.
One of the beautiful gifts of childhood is simple faith.
After breakfast, prepared by my wonderful hubby, yesterday
I left the table and my 3 guys to ice my sore back and recline while they finished eating.
Aaron asked the boys to say their memory verses,
the ones they are learning for church.
John 3:16-17
“16 For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son
That whoever believes in Him
Shall not perish, but have eternal life.
17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world,
But to save the world through Him.”
They finished verse 16 and Aaron began asking questions.
Great questions.
They discussed the verse for a while.
When they were done,
Collin looked up from his nearly licked clean plate of french toast
And said, “Dod is MY Dod”
*Note: Collin can’t say hard G or hard C sounds yet.*
I chimed in and asked him why God was his God??
He simply said,
“Betause I love Him.”
Guess what, he is right.
It is that simple.
At four years old, he is able to understand the basic foundation of a walk with Christ.
Faith.
Loving God.
Amen.
Sometimes it is so hard to remember it is really that simple.
Loving God because He first loved us.
Trusting what He says is truth.
Childlike faith.
Pure and simple.
